الملف مفيد لأن احرف الجر تتسبب أحيانا فى نوع من اللبس

لذا من باب المشاركة الفعالة اردت ان أردف بهذا :

ثانيا : بعض التوضيح الخاص بالأحرف الثلاث( in ,on and at )

• at for a PRECISE TIME
• in for MONTHS, YEARS, CENTURIES and LONG PERIODS
• on for DAYS and DATES

PREPOSITIONS OF TIME – IN, ON, AT

The most common prepositions of time in English are:

IN ON AT

When using them you have to remember the following rules:


1. Use the preposition IN with the following words

• parts of the day

IN the morning, afternoon, evening

• months

IN January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December

• seasons

IN (the) spring, summer, autumn, winter

• years

IN 1968, 2006 etc.

2. Use the preposition ON with the following words

• days of the week

ON Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

• dates

ON 1st May, 2nd June, January 23rd etc.

• days of the week + parts of the day

ON Monday morning, Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday evening, Christmas Eve etc.

3. Use the preposition AT with the following words

• hours (telling the time)
AT six o’clock, quarter to five, half past two, 2.30 etc.

• expressions like

AT noon, middday, night, midnight

• holidays

AT the weekend, weekends, Christmas, Easter
at sunset
at the moment
AT PRECISE TIME
