وفقا لجامعة كالتك التى تقود العلم فى العالم المعاصر: «إن الميكروسكوب رباعى الأبعاد يحدث ثورة فى طريقة نظرتنا لعالم النانو.. إنه يسمح بمشاهدة الزمن الحقيقى والمساحة الحقيقية للتغيرات داخل الذرة، وهناك براءة اختراع منحت للجامعة بهذا الخصوص..
