John Milton the Poet of Hope & Despair
John Milton is a renowned English poet who lived in the 16th century & suffered of his blindness & gout .He is the greatest in writing the epic poetry and who depended on the Old & New Testaments out of his Presbyterian belief .Blindness is a dire handicap to a writer to start or complete his work , but really , John Milton was an exception .After his blindness , he became free or relieved of many works or duties .
Great works , including the literary , have great backgrounds like revolutions after a heavy tyranny .His health deficiency led him to compose the longest & most archetypal poem in the English literature which tackled Man's first disobedience and fall from Paradise .
Paradise Lost flowed out from the poet's depressed spirit and wide imagination .But some critics believe that Milton was haunted by evil spirits when writing Paradise Lost , i.e. ,he portrays it through Satan's view & sadness to waste it .Other critics accused him to hold an anti – woman or misogynistic attitude . He justifies the Fall of Mankind and relates it to Adam's uxoriousness .
Paradise Lost took come seven years to complete .Thus , it is considered a literary epic in the English language that tells the biblical story of creation and Man's fall from Paradise .
He depended on religious references , as I mentioned before ; the Old & New Testaments that recite the human loss of paradise when Eve then Adam were abetted by Satan and ate from the forbidden tree .Milton 's personification is so unique and excellent , especially through the interlocution between the figures of poems .
He showed the extra power of Satan who was able to seduce the mother & father of mankind .In versus, the humane gender was given a lower grade when Milton's makes Adam & Eve Satan's foils . He showed Satan , once again , a fearless hero who faced & revolted the Divine Order , and then seduced mankind .

Paradise Lost is a great story within a poem that expresses the poet's despair .Maybe his suffering and illness brought about such despair which he related and related to the first human disobedience , i.e. , through Paradise Lost he expressed such state of despair .Indeed the gradual readings of the poem with a deep comprehension brings sorrow to one's feeling , particularly the final lines of the poems when Adam and Eve were leaving Paradise .
John Milton is considered a revolt against the human behavior and fault , showing how weak is the human mind and how it is easy to seduce mankind .That is to say Milton gives out a philosophy that mankind gets the thin instead of the fatty .
In Paradise Regained , Milton seems to get high spirits and that is quite clear through the sequence of the poem .Jesus, the second Adam , against Satan's beguile , holds the focal point of this poem .Milton made him complete and unbeguiled by the same Satan who seduced the mother & father of Mankind .But, indeed, he did not deal with the action of crucification , instead he showed Christ overcoming Satan the tempter .He was unable to conquer despair in his last three poems that expressed a purified faith and confidence in God , and the regenerative strength of the individual soul .
